Davos roundtable to discuss philanthropy in online education

The discussion will focus on how
philanthropic resources and technology are being integrated to foster the
growing revolution in online education.
The Philanthropic Roundtable, a feature
of the annual meeting in Davos of the World Economic Forum, will take place on
Thursday, 24 January, 2013. The Victor Pinchuk Foundation is sponsoring ‘RevolutiOnline.edu – Online Education
Changing the World’, bringing to together a diverse panel, including: Thomas
Friedman, foreign affairs columnist, The New York Times (moderator); Bill Gates, co-chair, Bill &
Melinda Gates Foundation; Rafael Reif,
president, MIT; Larry Summers, president
emeritus, Harvard University; Daphne
Koller, co-founder and co-CEO, Coursera; Sebastian Thrun, founder, Udacity; Peter Thiel, partner, Founders Fund; Salman Khan, founder, Khan Academy (by TV link); and Jimmy Wales, founder, Wikipedia.
The discussion will focus on how
